The idea for PT for the Soul happened a few years ago, when people that I would minister to would ask if there was a web site or a devotional that I could send to them. As I would continue to minister to people I felt that the Lord was leading me to this devotional. This devotional would seem to always be on my mind until I gave into the calling. The day I said "I would do it" came the name and the idea of www.gotothetruth.com. I give all the honor, glory and praise to God for this devotional and the web sites success. It is through this devotional that we reach people from all walks of life and Christians from different denominations.
So what does PT in PT for the Soul stand for? It stands for Physical Therapy. Webster's dictionary defines physical therapy as the treatment of disease, injury, or disability by physical and mechanical means (as massage, regulated exercise, water, light, heat, and electricity. PT for the Soul is just that, It is physical therapy, but it is for our souls. As we wrestle everyday with the struggles of sin and the temptations that Satan puts in front of us, prayer and the reading of Scripture provides the therapy we need and are seeking to overcome our temptations, sins and it helps our personal relationship with our savior. The Bible tells us "Until I come devote yourself to the public reading of scripture to preaching and to teaching" (1st Timothy 4:13). This is where our (God, myself and my wife) devotionals come in. We are committed to give you devotionals that are not just the reading of the Scripture but how to relate the Scripture in our lives. It is through these devotional we are spending time in the word and spending time with God. This helps us strengthen our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, our family and our community.
